All of us who work at Žale have a sound awareness of the cultural significance of the cemetery and therefore organize free guided tours of Žale every year.

Free guided tours take place during Heritage Days of European Cemeteries, which normally take place at the end of May or at the beginning of June and are organized by members of the association ASCE (Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe).

In this way we as members of the association ASCE realize the mission of promotion of the cultural historical heritage.

Tours begin at Plečnik’s Žale, where you can obtain information on significant works of Plečnik and continue touring the graves of famous Slovenians, more important parts of the cemetery, and admire the open air museum.

We are happy to find that the guided tours are visited in growing numbers each year.
